I’m Mattie Duppler

I’m the Founder and President of Forward Strategies, a strategic consulting firm. I also serve as the Senior Fellow for Fiscal Policy at the National Taxpayers Union, a nonpartisan advocacy group focused on budget and tax issues and I sit on the board of the Center for a Free Economy. You have probably seen me on your favorite financial network, explaining how policy decisions in Washington, D.C. impact you.

Mattie’s analysis of fiscal issues is considered influential in federal lawmaking. She has considerable experience building cross-disciplinary coalitions and is known for her vision and execution of persuasive communications strategies.

Mattie integrates her policy and communications expertise to help clients in the tax, financial services and technology spaces grow their influence.

As the former Coalitions Director in the United States House of Representatives, Mattie is a skilled relationship builder. Serving in that role until 2016, she focused on modernizing partnerships between the hill and third party allies.  Her work centered on developing and elevating the Conference Chair’s message to impact new, diverse audiences.

 

Prior to her role at in House leadership, Mattie was the Director of Budget and Regulatory Policy at Americans for Tax Reform. She also served as the Executive Director of ATR’s Cost of Government Center, which focused on reforming government spending and creating smarter regulation. Through coalition management, incisive analysis and an enhanced communications strategy, Mattie expanded Americans for Tax Reform’s focus and influence in a variety of critical policy areas.

A highly skilled communicator, Mattie has been a frequent panelist and featured speaker at events nationwide. She is a regular commentator on CNBC, Fox Business Network, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN, Cheddar News, Yahoo! Finance, Bloomberg and has been a recurrent guest on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

She has received recognition as a leader in her field, being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2015 and the Red Alert Politics Thirty Under Thirty list in 2014.

A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Mattie earned bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Philosophy, accelerating her coursework to graduate with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008
